As of now, HUD and FHA have authorized using the tax credit to be used as a down payment. BUT, nothing is still ironed out yet that is a legitimate way of doing this, other than what could be the equivalent to a pay-day loan. I check the TDHCA website frequently, and when a state funded, or endorsed program is ready to be used I assure you I will be writing about it once everything is clear. Hang in there!
