Here is a story I caught across the news wire recently. A Fort Mills, South Carolina Real Estate Agent was caught on tape cutting up, and knocking down a competitors real estate signs. Evidently, he is the former boss of the victim according to the story. Now what really caught my attention about this was the type of signs this real estate agent was using, why is he using cardboard signs in front of houses? I believe this was done probably for the sake of the story. I won’t even go into the issues of those promotions, or what has happen to tens of thousands who may have taken advantage of those incentives in the past 3 years, because I think most everyone knows those account for a large percentage of the Foreclosure market today.
Let’s just say, I have been tempted to knock those signs down along the road, not because I want to stomp the competition, but just because they are ticky-tacky, ugly signs. Luckily in Highland Village, Flower Mound, and a many other North Dallas cities we have sign ordinances against these, so when they go up, they don’t last long. Unfortunately the eye sore signs on private property have to remain, such as the case a lot up and down FM 1171.
Don’t even get me started on the “We Buy Houses” signs, written with magic marker on a cut-up cardboard box. Do people really ever call those?
