Real Estate Agent Arrested

Here is a story I caught across the news wire recently. A Fort Mills, South Carolina Real Estate Agent was caught on tape cutting up, and knocking down a competitors real estate signs. Evidently, he is the former boss of the victim according to the story. Now what really caught my attention about this was the type of signs this real estate agent was using, why is he using cardboard signs in front of houses?

Forfeited Land Board Auction

Being a Realtor registered with the Texas VLB to assist veterans with using the benefits offered to them for land and housing loans, provides me with some email fodder than can be passed along to my readers here at My Denton County Real Estate. Since I know over 18% of the visitors here so far in 2009 have checked out Buying a Home with the Texas Veterans Land Board Program. The $8000 First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit Logo

I must admit, when the bill was being negotiated in the Senate, before moving forward to the House of Representatives I was following it very close, in attempt to report the results in a timely manner. But as we know now, that was a lost cause because it kept changing hourly it seemed. But now we have a signed bill, and albeit it was very trimmed

USDA Home Loans are the Real Deal for Denton County

February 12, 2009
USDA Rural Development Logo Thumb

Once again I find myself having to tout and sound the trumpets about the USDA Rural Development Guaranteed Housing Loan Program after another successful closing. Next to the article Buying a Home with the Texas Veterans Land Board Program (TVLB) it is the most read item on this little blog, but has generated the most emails and phone calls. I welcome these inquiries with open arms of course, and hope that continues — although I do wish more Tex Vets would be

Fix Housing First Act…that is after all the bickering…

February 11, 2009
Democrats vs Republicans Effect the Housing Market.

I have been itching to write a new article on the new stimulus package, and how it will effect future home buyers, first-timers and hopefully even move-up  / downsizing buyers in Denton County real estate. Home sellers will also have reason to rejoice if buyers who are sitting on the fence, or just need a little more incentive can be nudged along. But, alas, we still do not not know for sure what will be in this new package. When I do

Old-Time TV & Media Coverage of Real Estate

It amazing to a lot of us in the real industry but the national media may actually be on the same page as the rest of us. This story recently ran on NBC’s Today Show, The 5 Biggest Real Estate Myth’s. It addressed many of the misconceptions buyers and sellers may have on their mind with the current market conditions.
