It is expected that about 350,000 military personnel and an unknown number of federal employees may be affected once this is passed into law. This is one I feel everyone can get behind — There seems to be a lot of talk from political pundits, the news media, and even a lot of REALTORS® that believe the tax credit is just “giving money away” or “creating debt for our children and grandchildren.” I am not sure any of them realize that in order for our economy to have gotten any better money needed to be moving and changing hands.

It’s that time again, the information thousands have been waiting for and dozens have already been searching for judging from my analytics. The second sale of 2009 for forfeited tracts of land from Texas Veterans Land Board. On Tuesday, October 27, 2009, once again forfeited land tracts will be made available to eligible Texas Veterans in a sealed-bid sale.

There are some new guidelines and information different than previous land sales as written about here.

Texas Veterans Land Board – Strong in Service, Support, and Cooperation

The following is a question that was posted by John on Buying a Home with the Texas Veterans Land Board Program (TVLB) and by the time I was done writing, I felt it was too long for a response to a comment, and deserved the attention of it’s own article.

Q As a disabled veteran, How do you buy forfeited or foreclosed land? How does it work if you missed the April and October sales for Texas land commission. I have not gotten straight answers from civilian auction groups that seem keep certain people out their circle to purchase at auctions etc..I have not been able to get straight information in how it all works. Since your a subject matter expert, can you help?

Being a Realtor registered by the Texas VLB to assist veterans with using the benefits offered to them for land and housing loans, provides me with some email fodder than can be passed along to my readers here at My Denton County Real Estate.

Since I know over 18% of the visitors here so far in 2009 have checked out Buying a Home with the Texas Veterans Land Board Program. Also with 79.8% of my website traffic comes from search engines, I am suspecting this information may be found useful to that group who are looking for programs to help Texas Vets buy a home or land.
